Aseyin of Iseyin Receives Award from Yoruba Youth Agenda, Pledges Support for the Association

The Yoruba Youth Agenda (YYA) paid a courtesy visit to the palace of His Royal Majesty, Oba Sefiu Olawale Oyebola Adeyeri III, Ajirotutu 1, Aseyin of Iseyin, as part of its Oyo State physical engagement held on Monday, September 28, 2026.

The visit provided an opportunity for the YYA leadership and members to engage the revered traditional ruler on matters concerning Yoruba heritage, youth leadership, cultural preservation and community development.

During the meeting, the Yoruba Youth Agenda presented an Award of Excellence to His Royal Majesty in recognition of his leadership, commitment to his people and contribution to the preservation and promotion of Yoruba heritage.

The presentation was also a moment of appreciation and mutual engagement, reflecting YYA’s commitment to building meaningful relationships with traditional institutions and other stakeholders who share its vision of empowering young people and preserving the values of the Yoruba people.

In his response, His Royal Majesty Oba Sefiu Olawale Oyebola Adeyeri III, Ajirotutu 1, expressed his appreciation to the Yoruba Youth Agenda for the recognition and welcomed the association’s initiative to engage young people around heritage, leadership and community development.

The Aseyin further pledged his support for the Yoruba Youth Agenda, assuring the association of his goodwill and willingness to support initiatives that promote the development of Yoruba youths and the preservation of Yoruba culture and values.

The YYA delegation expressed its gratitude to His Royal Majesty for the warm reception and generous commitment to the association. The engagement reinforced the importance of collaboration between traditional institutions and youth organisations in building a stronger future for the Yoruba community.

The Iseyin engagement formed part of YYA’s broader Oyo State Physical Meetings, designed to strengthen the association’s grassroots presence, foster unity and deepen relationships with traditional leaders and communities across Oyo State.
